Age grading

Every product page shows a recommended age range. Age grading is determined by small-parts testing, the physical force a toy can withstand, and the developmental stage the toy is designed for. A toy graded 3+ is not merely "advanced" — it contains components that can block a young child's airway. Where siblings share a play space, store 3+ toys separately and out of reach of babies and toddlers.

• 0–6 months: lightweight, one-piece or fully stitched items, high contrast, no small parts, supervised tummy time and lap play only.
• 6–12 months: mouthing-safe materials, grip-building shapes, sealed rattles, and no cords longer than 7 inches.
• 12 months and up: stacking, sorting and problem-solving toys. Some items in this range contain small parts and are graded 3+ — always read the product warning.

Compliance

All items we stock are supplied with documentation of compliance with ASTM F963 (the U.S. consumer safety specification for toy safety) and the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), including third-party testing for lead content, lead in paint and phthalates. Children's Product Certificates are held on file per SKU and are available on request.

Supervision and safe play

• Never leave a baby unattended with any toy, including soft and fabric items.
• Keep soft toys, comforters and loose bedding out of the crib for infants under 12 months while sleeping, per safe-sleep guidance.
• Never attach a teether, rattle or toy to a cord, ribbon, strap or clip near a child's neck, or across a crib or playpen.
• Never leave a child unattended in or near water during bath play.
• Inspect toys before each use. Retire any item with a tear, crack, chip, loose seam or exposed filling immediately.

Cleaning and hygiene

Wash or sterilize every item before first use. Follow the care line on the product page: silicone can be boiled or dishwasher-cleaned, fabric items are machine washable unless marked surface-wash, wooden toys are wipe-clean only, and bath toys must be emptied of water and air dried after every use to prevent interior mold.

Recalls and safety reports

If you believe a product is unsafe or has caused an injury, stop using it immediately and contact us at +1 (607) 698-0347 or info@tivorainnovations.com. We will replace or refund the item, notify the supplier, and report to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission where required. Consumers may also report incidents directly at SaferProducts.gov.
